A little shopping

I finished my exams and decided to do a bit of long overdue shopping.

Photobucket

I won't be showing what I bought at Lasenza, whats so exciting about bras?

Photobucket

Something that I've been eying for a while now at American Apparel is this Silky Collar Tee in Cream. (I know it's a lil wrinkly) Since I was conveniently downtown for school and I thought I would buy it at a downtown AA. I walked to 2 American Apparel stores downtown and they didn't have it. The first store took atleast 15 minutes to locate a black one. And the second store didn't even know where it was. I then went to the one in Fairview, they didn't have it but it was the ONLY American Apparel store that offered to order it for me.
Since I needed to spend a minimum of $50 to use my TeamBuy ticket, I grabbed a Glitter Nail polish in Super Nova. It's a pretty glitter polish but it's super hard to remove (like all other glitter polishes) so I think I might stay away from glitter polishes from now on.

TeamBuy X American Apparel

I was super excited when I saw that American Apparel was holding a week long offer on TeamBuy this week. One new deal every day for an entire week! American Apparel is a little pricey and I like it when I can score a deal.

TeamBuy is a Canadian site that offers discounted deals on various things. From restaurant deals to electronics to clothing to outings, etc. But the catch is that there is a minimum number of buyers that need to be met before the deal can be validated. Usually the minimum is around 10 buys and it's easily reached. When the minimum is met, you get an email informing you of that the deal is "on." All you have to do now is go to your "My Buys" page and print/show the ticket at the retailer. I've made several purchases (American Apparel, Yeh!, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Hakata, etc) and never had a problem.

Link: TeamBuy

Day 1: 2 pairs of cotton leggings for $30
Day 2: 5 Nail Polishes for $15
Day 3: A Circle scarf for $20
Day 4: A Unisex Winter Jacket for $99
Day 5: 3 Sets of Male Underwear for $22
Day 6: 2 Unisex Flex Fleece Hoodies for $55
Day 7: To be revealed tonight at 12am.

The deal I picked up was 5/$15 Nail Polish. I had just recently bought the Glitter nail polish at American Apparel in Supernova and regretted choosing it over a pale pink. I kept Supernova nonetheless, as it was a nice glitter polish for the holidays. Can't wait to pick these up! I've been on a little nail polish frenzy the last week or two...(I do my nails when I want to procrastinate studying.)

Hurry up and buy these! It ends soon!

Stressing

Scambling to get the rest of these biology notes memorized enough to at least recognize answers during my exam tomorrow afternoon. And it doesn't help that I have a ton of calculus formulas to memorize for the day after. Stressing about biology will end in less than 24 hours...

Goodbye enzymes! Hello triple integrals!
University life as a science student sucks when you're not interested in your major.

Atleast now I have something to look forward to after my calculus exam on the 14th. Leather jacket, snood, grey jean skirt... so much shopping to do once my exams are over.

edit: Oh, would you look at that... this collection isn't available in Montreal. It's only available in Vancouver and Toronto.

the end is nearing

I have approximately a week of school left and I've decided to stay home to study for most of it. I don't attend my bio class and I can get cal notes from a friend. Instead of waking up at 5:45am and wasting 2 hours traveling to go to a 1 hour lecture, I think I'd be more productive and less tired if I stay at home. I'm pretty much screwed and behind on an entire semester's worth of material... I'm not even scared of failing anymore. This is how much I want out of my major.

This has been my worst semester ever. I am not motivated at all to do anything. I spend my days doing absolutely nothing. I've been procrastinating to avoid feeling the stress of not keeping up with my work. It's all a mess. I have less than 2 weeks to pull myself together before my finals start. And once it's all done, I'd feel free again.

I'm very much looking forward to my arts classes. I'll actually be taking classes that I'm interested in (and which will spark up motivation to study.) I've been wanting to do this for a while now. Just never had the courage to stray away from the thing I've always known. No more science for me. I'm done with forcing myself to learn uninteresting things. I'll always find a comfort in sciences but I'll do it at my own pace and on my own time.

Upcoming Warehouse Sales in Montreal

Lise Watier and Matt&Nat are having warehouse sales in a week or so. I'm interested in going to the Matt&Nat Sample sale. But sadly public transport is my only way of getting there and it's really out of my way. In cold weather... I'd rather wait for when it happens in the spring/summer. I need a new bag for my trip to Hong Kong then.

The
Lise Watier sale has been already going on for 2 weekends! I've never been but have wanted to go in the past. I'm currently not in need or have an urges of buying makeup so I'll pass on this sale. But for those of you who can't get rid of the makeup bargain jitters...

It's All in the Details

T-ara just made their Korean comeback shortly after promotions in Japan with "Cry Cry." Combat boots? Check. Leather? Check. My favorite piece of clothing would be Eunjung's (right most) black cut out blouse. I've been really liking detailed blouses and really want to incorporate them in my wardrobe. Blouses give off a slightly more mature look but the cut out details make it young. I'm probably gonna have to hunt a similar blouse down. Asos sells a similar design from Vero Moda. All sizes are sold out except Large and it comes in two colors.

Photobucket

Another cut out detail I like is the back triangle cut out. This triangle cut out from the back is unexpected and cool.

The same blouse has other design details that I've been loving for a while now. The longer back hem AND bell sleeves. Too bad this blouse is $109, otherwise I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
SNSD's Tiffany in "The Boys" MV.

Photobucket

Wonder Girls' promo pictures of "Be My Baby" of Yoobin (and Tiffany) has made me want to grow out my bangs. She looks amazing with sleek long bangs and hair.

A bit of Music

T-ara just recently came out with their new song "Cry Cry" and I love their style. I think I just like the dark edgy look, I seemed to adore Miss A's "Goodbye Baby," the black outfits in SNSD's "The Boys." T-ara's look for "Cry Cry" makes me think of their old concept from their 1st album "Breaking Heart" with a similar bad girl image.

The song is pretty good. The chorus is catchy and Soyeon is amazing singing live for the Acoustic version of "Cry Cry."

The Secret Circle is on their mid-season break and I'm stuck with nothing on Thursday nights to watch. But I've been hooked on Sarah Blasko's "We Won't Run" featured in the pilot episode of the series. I greatly enjoy my K-pop and for some reason I can't stop listening to this song. This song is just amazing.

It's been a long while since I last ventured into Chinese music but I couldn't help listening to Nicholas Teo's new album "Lets Not Fall in Love Again". His voice is just so soothing and perfect for ballads. I also have this song (same name as the album) on repeat and haven't gotten sick of it yet. Chinese lyrics are my favorite, so few words can mean so much. I recommend this album.

Winter Coat: Soia & Kyo

It's that time of year again... Canada is slowly entering it's menacing cold icy weather and I'm about to be frozen to death during my walks to school. But have no fear! I just ordered a new coat for the season!

My previous winter coat was Soia & Kyo's
Betty in Black back from their 2009 Winter collection.
Soia & Kyo makes the best wool coat out there that can withstand the Canadian weather.
Canadians know what other Canadians want :)

Gorgeous coat, thick wool, snug fit. I loved the design of Betty. Double breasted Military Chest. Collared and buttoned sleeves. All lined with a touch of green, yellow and black plaid.
I ordered Betty the winter it came out because I just couldn't resist. $400 for a coat is quite a hefty price tag for a student. So I resisted the urge to buy a coat last winter.

I made a trip over to Simons to check out Soia & Kyo's 2011 collection. I can tell you that I am very disappointed with their new collection. I can't possibly describe how the quality has gone down. Everything was THIN. If they thought I was about to dish out $400 for a thin wool or down coat, they were wrong. The only reason I would spend so much money on a coat was because I would spend $170 for a thin coat, why not pay double for something that'll keep me warm? Good thing last year's collection is on sale and the material description matched Betty's.

Old Material Description vs. New Collection Material Description.
80% wool vs. 51-60% wool

The more wool... the warmer the coat is.... Sorry, but 60% doesn't cut it for Canadian winters.

My new coat this winter is Soia & Kyo's
Polina in Black from their 2010 Winter Collection.
Just placed my order not long ago. $195+ tax + free shipping, I think it's quite a good investment... as long as it isn't thin... I'm hoping it isn't, seeing how it has the same product description as Betty. (edit: Just went on the Soia&Kyo website and Polina is not available anymore... good thing I bought her this morning!)

Statement collar, belted, also double breasted wool coat. Beautiful and classic!
This might be the last Soia & Kyo coat that I'd be buying in while... unless they up their game again.

Prepared to take the winter months on!

New Fixation

As I was stressed the last month and a half from school, I spent alot of time trying to cope with it. My method of coping this semester was watching a ridiculous amount of shows.... and I got hooked on a new one. I grew up watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch- cartoon and the TV show. So a new show about witches in the midst of all this vampire hype? I'm in! (and might I add I'm a Harry Potter fan too?)

The Secret Circle

Photobucket

This show is my new fixation! I am infatuated with Thomas Dekker, who plays Adam Conant on the show. He has this bad boy meets cute good guy look. Did I mention his husky voice? He looks adorable with Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Diana (Shelley Hennig.) But I'm rooting for Cassie and Adam to be together. I know how both Cassie and Adam's families are written in the stars and are destined together is a little cliche but I like corny stuff. This show is getting better each episode. More mysterious, darker and more stories get unraveled (Obviously.) Now I just wish they did more magic....

Update - Lots of Ranting

So I've noticed I've been neglecting my blog recently and all I've been posting were updates every once a month or so. I was terribly stressed at the amount of university workload and trying to balance that with my job.

I am a chemistry major at McGill. I thought I could have stuck with it for a year and then switched out to biochemistry or pharmacology. Or rather sucked it up for the next three years and just graduated. But my boyfriend saw the amount of stress and how unhappy I was in my major and really encouraged me to do what I was interested in and not what people expected me to do. I've now decided to switch my major to Linguistics. I was interested in the Linguistics major when I was at the Open House last October but never acted on it. I was unhappy and under constant stress for the last month and a half. I withdrew from a large part of my classes this semester and I also dropped most of my classes in the winter semester and am now trying to register into arts classes.

- RANT -
My entire life, I based my academic decisions on what people expected me to do. I am now letting myself be liberated from them and allowing myself to explore outside the comforting realms of science. I told my mom and stood up against her when she said I should continue in chemistry (and then switching to pharmacology) because it would most probably land me a job easier. I'm pretty pissed off at her. She had never pushed my younger sister to do anything she did not want to do like she did with me. My sister explained to me how my mom knew I was able to push myself to do something I didn't like. Well, not anymore. I want to see her get a university degree. When I told her I was quitting my job and when my dad gave me an option of just working during holidays (winter break, summers..) and I said I didn't feel like it. My mom said that I had to if I wanted to earn my money. No. I am now quitting my job and need you to provide me the money to spend. I grew up with them telling me to not worry about anything financially as long as I got my education. My mom got a little too comfortable with my sister and I paying for our own things. And now she tells me I have to earn it when I want to focus on my studies? Sorry, not happening. You're the one that wants me to get an education. You're paying for my tuition fees and my living costs.

-- JOB RANT -- (You were warned... anger... frustration... more anger... and me jumping from topic to another)
I also recently quit my job. Quitting my job was pretty impulsive but I felt like it was time I got away from it. I'm starting to regret the decision now that I have fewer classes and more free time on my hands. I'll probably hunt for another job. My soon to be ex-manager started changing my availability by herself, assigning me hours when I'm not available, making me feel bad about bringing homework to work and tried to get me to trick me into staying an extra two hours when it was originally a three hour shift. I was really into my job even though I didn't always like it. I felt good when customers were happy and weren't rude. I feel bad calling in and saying I can't make it into work (even if it's not my fault that I got scheduled.) I am no longer going to deal with this new manager's stupidity and telling me that she "understands" that I'm stressed about school TODAY. No... it's not just today, it's the entire next 3 weeks. So I quit from my job. I was next up to be supervisor, everyone else was either new or aren't trustworthy enough or too lazy. I wonder how they will fare when Christmas rolls in. I kinda wish them the worst. Nice co-workers but horrible higher ups. Only one co-manager appreciated us. If the co-manager leaves, I'm sure everyone will too. They're losing all the good workers... just because this new manager wants to be a directeur and starts being anal about everything. Good thing I don't technically need a job.

End of my immature rants...

American Apparel Warehouse Sale Montreal 2011

American Apparel is hosting it's warehouse sale again in Montreal!
September 16th-21st.
5430 Ferrier Street
Montreal, QC

I was super excited to go to the sale. Last time I went, about a year or two ago, it was horribly messy and I didn't have the patience to dig through boxes to find things. I ended up buying nothing that time. But I regret it now, at least that sale had good stock. This time around... practically everything had a defect of some sort on it; whether it be a hole, stain, broken zipper, etc. It was a warehouse sale, none of the ads advertised damaged items were to be the majority of the stock.

Needless to say I was very disappointed. I'm not a die-hard American Apparel fan and would never go out of my way to buy damaged clothing just because it was cheap (unless it was honestly a couple dollars.) But for the price I was paying at this sale, I wasn't about to pay the amount for defect items. I would have gladly done it if it was in retail condition.. hence a WAREHOUSE SALE. It was not worth the trip at all. It took me about 40 minutes to get there from school and it was cold!

I had a couple of things I had in mind that I wanted to pick up. I ended up only buying 2 items but it was worth it. The hour long wait was horrid. It was drawing closer and closer to noon and i wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything this time. I made sure to walk around the entire warehouse before leaving.

After watching Miss A's "Good Girl Bad Girl" MV a while back, I've always wanted to get the petticoat slip skirt. It's so puffy and feminine and it flows so nicely when it moves. I originally wanted it in black, like Suzy's, but they only had it in white at the sale. I have too much black clothing and white is the alternative color in my closet usually. I decided I needed the white petticoat just as much as the black one to wear with my more feminine pieces.

So I ended up buying the white reversible petticoat slip skirt for $20 (Originally $82 CAD) and a plain white t-shirt for $8 (Originally $25 CAD.)

I've wanted an American Apparel white v neck tee for quite a while now. But I could never justify paying the $25 for it. Sure, the quality was really good, but I hardly ever buy things not on sale. (American Apparel "sales" aren't what I call deals.) Anyways I was going to get the organic blend in a size small but then realized there were noticeable stains that were quite large on the back of a sleeve, and that it was probably a unisex small and put it down. I found probably the only XS white v neck in decent condition. Mine had a small brown stain near the V neck. But I decided BLEACH will fix this and grabbed this.

I only bought these two items and do not recommend going unless you want to waste your time. I put down so much stuff while waiting in line to pay. I'd wait for the next sale (which hopefully won't carry as much damaged items.) I should have also looked for some bandeau tops, but the mess in the baby/lingerie/sock area was too much for me to handle. I saw girls waiting in line ahead of me contemplating if they should buy dresses or shirts with cuts and defects. $15 for a dress with a hole in it? $20 for a pen marked skirt? $12 for a lace bodysuit with holes in it? No thank you. Not at a warehouse sale.

Downtown Last Week

These pictures are from wayyyy last week when school just started. I'm supposed to be working on a research assignment.. but SciFinder decided to do server maintenance just when I decided to be productive and not procrastinate! I was set on doing some parts on this assignment before I screw myself over doing things last minute :( So, SciFinder server down = break and here I am.

First few days of school was just going over the course outlines and exams dates. I ended up getting out early and had time to prowl around the streets of St. Catherine. My boyfriend, his friend and I went to Chinatown and had Pho Noodles. Didn't take any pictures of our meal... this is practically the only thing my boyfriend wants to eat when we eat out. His friend had to go return to school and we walked back to St Catherine.

I walked ahead and crossed the intersection before both of them did so I decided to take a picture of Place des Art. (You can spot Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in the corner)

I saw some interesting things on our walk to the train station... we were walking down the street from the Guy-Concordia metro and I spotted this!

I wasn't expecting to see SNSD ads anywhere in Montreal. Our Asian population isn't the largest and I doubt that many people would know who they were. I don't think their ad in Montreal would have a large enough consumer impact to warrant it being here. But I was happy to see it :P How pretty are they!?

Heading closer to the Lucien L'allier station, I saw this spray painted on the sidewalk. It's kinda sad having seen this across the street from a Youth center.

I take the train to school every day and I don't know how I ever lived without it! Montreal's train schedules are horrible and only come during rush hours and then sparsely come every few hours in between. BUT it has air conditioning and the entire ride is smooth. No bumping up and down. No need to hold onto a pole to steady yourself. It runs at a consistent speed and you pretty much always get a seat. How great is that? It's fairly easy to fall asleep or do homework on the train!

I went to Walmart today and got a few things! I already took pictures and maybe get to posting them tomorrow... or next week... we'll see how much homework I can get done..

McGill

As I said I would, I'm posting pictures of McGill that I took before school started. School started September 1st and these pictures are long overdue! I got my wisdom teeth removed a week and a half before school started and couldn't blog at all. I was knocked out from my pain killers, there was no fighting the drowsiness. But I'm back! It might not be for long as my classes are already giving my homework.. eek!

Walk up from the main entrance to McGill. It's a beautiful campus. The Might I add that it's a massive campus also? I still can't find my way to the Rutherford Physics building...
I would not have gotten such a nice picture of this path if I took these after school started. The McGill non-academic staff is on strike and 35,000 students starting school wouldn't have been that nice of an addition to the picture. (I mostly didn't want to look like a creep)

This is the Arts building that you see at the end of the main path in the first picture. Frosh booths were up during the first two days of school at this intersection. I'm not attending Frosh, it's not my thing and I'd much rather sleep at a reasonable hour in my comfy bed. Frosh at McGill isn't as bad as those of other universities. I've heard stories from the Université de Montreal's froshes and I'd just keep away.

Must get off the computer and be productive!

Random Life Update

I'm in at my desk drinking a cup of cappuccino. I've been working alot lately. My 5 hour shift at work yesterday became an 8 hour shift - 9 hour shift if you include the hour I had for lunch. It was incredibly busy, atleast 3 people called in sick and they needed someone so I agreed to stay longer. It wasn't horrible at all, there were only a few rude customers. It was better than I thought it would be. My boyfriend came to visit me during my lunch break. I was happy to see him at work, he doesn't do this very often.

My mom is on a flight to Hong Kong right now. I was supposed to go back this year too but I figured I should work this summer to get spending money for university in the fall. I'll be downtown most of my time and we know how much more frequent I'll come across a store. I'm very jealous of my mom and wish I could have went. I miss Hong Kong. I miss the crowds of people. I miss seeing the busy lives of everyone around me. I miss the fast pace of the city. I'll be definitely going back next year! My entire family is coming along, I'm hoping to go to Taiwan and possibly Korea! I didn't ask my mom to bring anything back... Ill be heading back next year so I'll just have to be patient.

I had already recently rediscovered a band I always had a soft spot for: Stars. They recently came out with a new digital album, The Bedroom Demos. It's not technically a new album, this album releases the songs cut from their "In the Bedroom after the War" album back in 2007. I love their music! This might be my favorite album of all time! Their music is calming and has this mystical feel to it, I really can't describe it well... the lyrics are so captivating... I can't stop listening to them!

Stream the album here. You won't regret it! It's amazing!
Support the artists by buying the digital album here.

Activities for the day would be as follows: Doctor's appointment - McGill Libraries - Downtown shopping!
My boyfriend is astounded by the size and content of their libraries. He's been there twice already and he's not technically a student yet, we start in the fall. He has access to all these books and I haven't seen him this excited over books before.

Every time I walk through the McGill campus my heart just swells up. I'm finally at my dream school... not that it was that out of reach but growing up in Montreal this is THE English university your parents and relatives would have their children to aspire to go to. The campus is breathtaking. You actually see grass downtown! The buildings are beautiful and has me reminiscent to the Old Montreal style. I'm so happy to be finally apart of this community.

I'll insert a photo here later if I can find my camera before I head out!

Marc Jacobs - Oh Lola! Fragrance featuring Dakota Fanning

I picked up the new August issue of Glamour and I couldn't stop staring the back cover of it. I couldn't fully recognize the blonde girl in the advertisement. I had a feeling it was Dakota Fanning but I wasn't sure til I looked it up online. She looks absolutely stunning in this ad and perfect for this fragrance...cute, young yet alluring. She makes me want to get a middle part and one length cut! I really like the dress, Marc Jacobs marketing execs sure know what I like... I've been wanting to get scallop lined bottoms and light pink items for a while now. I don't usually like polka dots. But this sheer pink and white combination doesn't make it look too

Oh Lola! is a sweeter and more fruity and floral perfume targeted towards the younger generation as opposed to the original Lola fragrance. It contains notes of wild strawberry, pear, raspberry, peony, sandalwood and vanilla.

Sweet? Floral? Sounds like something I would wear! I can't wait for this to release! Although I am excited to try this, the only concern I have is with the fruity notes in Oh Lola! Anna Sui's Dolly Girl is a likeable scent but it has subtle hints of fruits that made me dislike it on me. Nonetheless it is a nice fragrance and I'm hoping I'd love Oh Lola! regardless of the fruit notes.

Oh Lola is set to release this month, July 2011! Can't wait to get my hands on this!

Haul + Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner Review

I've been meaning to write a post in a while but I wasn't compelled to do anything other than sleep. But here I am, finally fully rested with a little haul and review!

Left to Right: Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner in Ultra Black, Batiste Coloured Black Dry Shampoo, Revlon Colorstay Lipstick in Soft Nude, Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake (Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift) and Herbal Essences Tousle me softly spray gel.

I went into Winners hoping to get some exercise equipment but saw this instead. Batiste's Coloured Black Dry Shampoo! I've been trying to get a dry shampoo for a while and read reviews describing a not so pleasant scent in the Tresemme's Dry Shampoo so I didn't buy that. The packaging is quite unique and would really stand out on store shelves. Whenever I feel like my bangs are greasy, I spray this one and it instantly looks better!
This has become a necessity in my life ever since I picked this up!

I also picked up Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel for 50% off at my grocery store. I've been trying to get messy hair for a while now but my hair is stubborn and wants to stay a in between straight and horrendous kinks. So I'm hoping this will help me achieve a messy look.

I've been contemplating in buying a liquid eyeliner over the past few weeks and considering the drugstore and department store options out there for me. I decided on this one because it came with a FULL price mail in rebate, so I literally get this for free and if it doesn't work out, I wouldn't regret it one bit. And I have to say, this eyeliner has holy grail potential!

Physicians Formula's Eye Booster Eyeliner boasts of 24 hour wear, water and smudge resistant. Supposedly it has lash serum incorporated into the formula that will enhance lash growth when applied to the roots of the lashes. The packaging is quite nice, the sleek metal tube doesn't look or feel cheap. This retails for around $15 CAD and is well worth the price for an eyeliner and lash growth stimulator (which is a plus if it does work!)

The fine brush tip is amazing, unlike the hard tip in Revlon's Colorstay liquid pen eyeliner. This brush tip is flexible and allows for precise application and dispenses a good amount of product with each swipe. I've had no difficulties with the amount of product coming out. I used to like felt tip brushes from L'oreal's liquid eyeliner but the formula wasn't waterproof so I didn't repurchase it. Revlon's liquid eyeliner pen formulation was horrid and the brush was so hard I could've poked my eyes out.

It promised water and smudge resistance but I was a bit skeptical because water resistant doesn't technically translate into waterproof. This eyeliner is amazing! I was blown away at how waterproof and smudge proof this was! It doesn't budge one bit, looks just as fresh as when you first applied it... unless you rub it really hard underwater with soap. Color intensity is really good, I wasn't expecting this much out of this product. Revlon Colorstay was a complete disappointment against my teary eyes; it wasn't waterproof at all and stung when it got into my eyes. This is a definite favorite of mine! I don't think I'll be venturing out to find a better low or high end liquid eyeliner other than this!

Clarins Montreal Annual Warehouse Sale 2011

Sorry for the late post. Every year I wait for Clarin's to hold it's warehouse sale. This year it was held on June 3rd and 4rd. They not only carry their own line of discounted products but there are many other brands available for lowered prices!

This sale is my favorite along with the L'oreal bi-annual sales. They sell numerous brands: Burberry, Lanvin, Thierry Mulger, PurMinerals, Anna Sui (you might have noticed,) Kibio, Azzaro, Roxy, etc. And since this sale is open to the public, it might get a little crowded and hard to get to skincare and makeup products, perfume wise it wasn't hard to get a hold of.

There was a lineup and I waited an hour to get in on the first day. It wasn't a too bad a wait. I keep forgetting to bring my camera with me and take pictures of all the action but here is what I hauled from that day!

Left to Right: Anna Sui Whitening Moisture Mask, Anna Sui Dolly Girl Lil' Starlet Nail Color in 03, Anna Sui Nail Color in 619, Anna Sui Super Mascara Waterproof in 001 Black, Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay, Clarins HydraQuench Cream, Anna Sui Nail Color in 608, Anna Sui Secret Wish Magic Romance 75mL

I love this sale because they have Anna Sui products up for grabs. I immediately went to Anna Sui's perfume table when I got in and grabbed my HG perfume, Secret Wish Magic Romance. I bought the largest size that I could, 75mL! It's a sweet floral scent that I adore. Like all Anna Sui perfumes this is a younger scent and probably not meant for those who want a more sophisticated scent. I find other Anna Sui scents to be a little too sweet for my liking.

I adore Anna Sui's nail polishes. They're packed with glitter and have a rose scent to them. Its the same rosey scent in all their makeup products that make me drawn towards their them. Might I add that Anna Sui has awesome designs for the packaging? I'm obsessed with mascaras, COMPLETELY infatuated with mascaras. I've tried Anna Sui's mascaras before but that was a while back when I started using makeup and I don't remember if they were waterproof or not. So I bought the Super Mascara in waterproof to actually test it. This review will be up shortly along with other mascara comparisons.

I accidentally bought the Clarins HydraQuench Cream instead of the HydraQuench Cream-Mask. I was too excited and mixed the two up. Clarins and their wording.... oh well, I need a better moisturizer too.

Anna Sui lipsticks were very sheer so I skipped on those and there were alot of gimmicky lip gloss necklaces and what not that I didn't care for. I didn't get much. I was careful with my spendings this time around.

Geo Princess Mimi Bambi Almond

Guess what I received in the mail!

I preordered on fobbybarbie.com during their May 9th batch preorder. I received these 2 days ago but it was worth the wait. I got the Geo Bambi series in Almond for $16 with free shipping and it came with a free lens case! So excited to try them!

I'll be reviewing these later, I haven't decided when to open them yet!

Yes Sir, Sorry Sir 點解阿Sir係阿Sir -Tavia Yeung

I've just recently finished watching "Yes Sir, Sorry Sir." It was alright, I liked the undercover cop story and it was lighthearted and had a high school setting so it was a likeable drama. But what really caught my eye was Tavia's style in the drama. She makes me want to go out and buy blazers!
This neutral cropped blazer is a perfect for spring! I know everyone is pretty much in summer mode but Montreal's summer weather isn't stable yet. I just love the cut of this cropped blazer, the mid-cuffed sleeves add a little edge to the neutral blazer.

I'd love to incorporate color into my wardrobe and I think this would be an easy way to do so. Boyfriend blazers have been in style for quite some time now, but if only they were cut and designed like the V that the blazer makes when she puts her hands in her pockets.

I simply adore the blazer she's wearing in this scene. I screen capped 2 images together. The double lining is quite unique. I also like how it looks buttoned. I haven't seen an affordable alternative yet.

The chiffon detailed layering is also one of my favorites. I have a feeling that this is a cardigan though but cute nonetheless.
A pale pink blazer is feminine yet professional. I like how she wore it with a ruffled white top to bring out the femininity of the piece. This along with the neutral cropped blazer are my favorites.

I hope this post inspires you to look for blazers! I can't wait to go shopping for them in late summer/fall for the school year!

Collective Haul

Left to Right: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstain in Blushing and Cranberry Crush, Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

My friend loves lipstains so I decided to give them a try. This will never be repurchased. I do not like bold lips and these on my lips were not the same color as swatched on my hand. I should have known that my natural lip color would add to the lipstain color. I was also in dire need of a
waterproof mascara since my Lancome Definicils was drying out on me. I can't say much on it, it's a regular mascara but nothing that awes me.

Left to Right: Revlon Scented Nail Polish in Gumdrop and Not So Blueberry, Geo Princess MiMi/Bambi Circle Lenses in Chocolate Brown, Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Please, Heroine Long and Curl Mascara in Black

Gumdrop is my favorite nail polish of all time! It smells like candy and is a light purple-lavendar color! I first purchased this a year ago when Revlon launched their limited edition Scents of Summer 2010 collection. I could only get my hands on 2 that year and was sad when it disappeared from stores. It's always the first to sell out. It came back again this year and I had to get it! I've since got my hands on 2 additional Gumdrops and hoping to get my hands on 2 more for my cousins. Enough of this Gumdrop talk, Not So Blueberry is a Blue heavily glittered polish and smells like blueberry play dough. I never liked the scent of blueberry when I was a child and I'm not about to change that because of a nail polish but the color is beautiful.

Geo Princess Mimi/Bambi Circle Lens Series in Chocolate Brown are my first pair of contacts. I'll post a review with pictures and such when I wear them more often but I haven't had the time to wear them for long periods of time yet. These are just so gorgeous, you must get your hands on them! They're all the hype right now online and in Japan because these were designed by Ts
ubasa Masuwaka. I have another pair of circle lenses from this collection coming to me in the mail soon!

Maybelline Pink Please Lipstick is a Light-Medium pink that's very wearable.

Heroine Long and Curl Mascara, I find the formula quite dry (maybe it's just the one I bought) It's quite a buildable mascara because of the fibers and very waterproof. Japanese mascaras never fail to impress me with their waterproof characteristics in their mascaras. Asians tend to have short lashes pointing downwards and need a waterproof mascara to hold lashes up after being curled. This applies to me and I can't wear non-waterproof mascaras.

Reviews coming soon!

Haul

I went shopping today, I wasn't really supposed to do that. I have so many projects and preps to do for next week but I couldn't help it! Went to the mall and headed straight to H&M. I wanted scallop/petal shorts from the new Conscious Collection but they didn't have it. My sister saw them at the H&M downtown but it was in a size 10, there was no way I was fitting in that. Instead I walked around browsing the store.

Here's what I got:
Belt, H&M. Dress, H&M. Shoes, Aldo.

The dress is super adorable and perfect for spring! It's light blue with white flower prints and black leaves! I can't wait to wear this out! I bought this in a size 4, but for some reason the waist string (which isn't adjustable) is a bit loose compared to the same dress with a different pattern. This was the last one so I couldn't do anything about it. Here's the pattern up close!

I needed a thin belt to belt shirts and dresses so I bought this one from H&M. I had my sister buy a belt from Forever21 for me but it wasn't meant to be for the waist. Saw the belts section at H&M and decided it was worth paying double the price for something that actually was the right length. It's a cute black belt with gold rings.

I went to Aldo next. I really need heels for next semester (I know... I think ahead of time) and I decided now was the time to get good deals on Fall/Winter shoes. I saw these online a while ago but they weren't worth $90. I went in today and saw that they were marked down to $30! These wedges are 3 inches tall. It's a good heel height but I'm used to 4+ inches for my heels. I decided walking around in 3 inch wedges for long periods of time is better than my usual 4 inch heels for random (non-daily) occasions.

Shoes, Aldo. (My cat checking up on me!)
