Lunch Out With Friends

Went out for lunch with some friends at Hakata Ramen. This is my favorite restaurant to go to when my boyfriend and I don't feel like going too far for noodles. From the outside, it doesn't look too nice and the location may be the reason why it doesn't get too much traffic (although it is only a street down from St. Catherine..) But the ramen there is amazing :) I'm quite a picky eater when it comes to Asian food, but this place gets my approval. The servings are just the right size and the prices are very affordable given the ambiance and setting.

The boyfriend ordered his usual, Crispy Chicken Miso Ramen. The crispy chicken is amazing, but I don't order it because I don't like the miso soup base that much. As you can probably tell, he couldn't wait for me to take pictures before digging in.

And I also ordered my usual, Curry Chicken Ramen. I find the curry soup base alot more appealing than the miso... but I never really liked miso... so I guess that might be why. I

Such a pretty bowl of ramen!

A Few Things I've Bought This Month

I tend to go through periods of ups and downs with my shopping... sometimes I buy next to nothing and other times I buy whatever the hell I like! It's not much, but it's mostly because I'm not posting everything that I've bought this month but these are my favorites so far :)

Vero Moda Sweater, Expression Necklaces, The Body Shop Foundation Brush

L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation in 522.
This foundation is sooooooo smooth and silky, I think it already has primer in it? The texture really feels like there's silicone in it ... maybe thats why it's so smooth. This is the perfect shade for me but too bad it's being discontinued and this was the last one at work :( I got it for 50% off and an additional 10% employee discount.

LOOK WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL!!

I finally ordered Star's new album "The North"... I don't know why it took me so long, I love them! If you're into indie-pop then try listening to them. I recommend "A Song is a Weapon," " The Theory of Relativity,"  "Hold On When You Get Love and Let Go When you Give It."   And that infrastructure on the cover? It's located in Montreal :)
My sister and I were randomly singing some songs one night... and realized we didn't have this album! A Walk to Remember was my favorite film, I enjoyed all the songs in it... and lo and behold there's an extended version of it on Amazon! So I ordered it, and I think my music life right now just might be a little more complete...(and if I also steal the Of Monsters And Men CD I bought for my boyfriend for Christmas...)

Revlon Selects Products Review Part I

I was selected to be a Revlon Select and got my package about a month ago. Being in the middle of exams, work, the holidays and now back to school, I hadn't really had time to blog. Now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and I'm back!

My package came with these five products, I haven't had time to try out the Nail Art Expressionists and the Ultimate Suede lipstick yet.. I'll get onto that! First I tried out the eyeshadow palette. I wanted to get this out of the way since I'm not an eyeshadow girl; I only apply eyeshadow on my lower lash line. The palette I got is named "Metropolitan."

All the colors here have a little shimmer to it. They're all super soft and quite pigmented. I love these colors! I use this everyday on my lower lash line. I never really liked pink shadows, but the top most pink was light enough to used in the inner corners. The taupe-y silver shade is a little misleading, when swatched, it looks like a shimmery shade of the lid color with alot more silver pigmentation. Nonetheless, it's amazing to use as a blending shade. The sparkle in the eyelid brown shade is quite unnoticeable and looks quite matte swatched. I'm not too sure if the champagne pink primer, in the rectangle, was useful or not. I don't use these eyeshadows on my eyelids, so I don't need priming. the gold glitter shade gives such sparkle to draw attention to my eyes rather than my under eyes! I've been using this as a replacement for Wet N Wild's Comfort Zone palette for a more natural look..

Should you buy this? Probably not, the colours aren't spectacular, and you probably have these shades already if you're not a makeup newbie. Do I recommend it? Yes I do, it's a nice everyday neutral palette if you're in the market looking for a simple one. I was going to post a picture up with me wearing it, but I need to learn how to take better pictures before doing that :P

I then tried the Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy nail polish because the glitter side was just too adorable! The blue-ish pink speckles reminded me of moon rocks or something. I was a bit skeptical at first with the base navy shade containing the same amount of polish as the glitter side. Nail polish usually needs two coats to get a decent opacity.. and I would need much more than the provided Navy shade to use up the glitter.... But to my surprise the Navy was incredibly opaque. One coat was all it took to look like the shade in the bottle!

Though my problem with this product was with the glitter polish side... as cute as the concept was, I did not find the combination to be worth it. I applied the glitter polish on top of the navy and honestly, I barely saw the glitter. I can barely see the flecks... cute concept but the results were a little disappointing. Great pigmentation on the navy shade but the glitter didn't do it...I'll pass on this...

Part II coming shortly
